They call a Buckhead apartment complex home but now they're being put out. Tenants of the Darlington in Buckhead rallied Monday night saying they will fight to keep their apartments.
Residents say this is one of the last complexes in Buckhead that is affordable and in a decent area. But many residents say some units don't have hot water and others don't have air conditioning but they don't have the money to move.
The complex says renovations are being made but it's unclear if current residents will be allowed back in once the improvements are finished.
The Darlington is where many of them have called home for several years.
"This is my home for the past 17 years," says resident Renee Henson."It's hard to just up and move.17 years of your life in just 60 days. We're just trying to bond together to basically be treated like human beings."
Tenants are being given until October 17 to move. A rally was held Monday night to bring attention to the issue but it may not be enough.
CBS46 has reached out to management using the number listed on the Darlington's website but the number is no longer in service.
We'll keep you posted.
