The Salvation Army has sent it's mobile kitchen to the Carolinas ahead of Hurricane Florence.

Volunteers and Salvation Army staff will provide those impacted by Florence with food, hydration and spiritual care.

"We continue to assess and evaluate the situation. Once we see exactly how the storm impacts the eastern coast, we will be able to deploy and redeploy our resources as needed to help those in the most severely affected areas," said Lanita Lloyd, Salvation Army of Georgia emergency disaster director.

There 21 mobile units are on standby to serve potential evacuation centers in Georgia and areas along the east coast.
